‘Urgent’ need for Richmond-area
We have an “urgent need” for host families in the Richmond-area to host international students attending Salesian High this fall.
Host families will be provided with a generous monthly stipend and other resources such as support from a local coordinator.
Our aim is to ensure families feel “confident and supported in opening their home to an international student.”
In order to become a host family, a safe and loving home must be provided along with a private bedroom, all meals, and transpiration to and from school. Families from all backgrounds, including those with and without their own children, are being sought.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for families to expand their cultural horizons and brings additional revenue to the local community through the monthly stipend the families receive,” according to a statement by Twinn Palms. “Hosting an international student is a rewarding and life-changing experience. The opportunity enables families to share the American lifestyle while learning about the international student’s culture. In the U.S., this unique opportunity has become known as homestay.”
