This month we are proud to honor Unique Dobmeier from San Diego, California, as our Coordinator of the Month. Unique has been with Twinn Palms for five years. She was nominated this month for her dedication to Twinn Palms and her host families. She’s a valued member of our community and we appreciate all that she’s done to help her students succeed.

Here is a little more about our October Coordinator of the month, Unique Dobmeier. Congratulations on a job well done!

What have you learned as a Homestay Coordinator with Twinn Palms?

Since I have both Brazilian and Chinese students, I have had the pleasure of learning about each culture individually. It has been such a fun and welcoming experience.

What was your favorite moment with your students?

My favorite moment is hard to pin down. I really enjoy both the student orientations and graduations. The way the students mature and progress throughout the year is very rewarding to see. They have grown into such mature and wonderful young adults by the time they reach graduation.

What do you recommend as the number one “must have” for a host family?

Above all, host families must have a strong love for children.
