This month we are proud to honor Nikki Bond as our Coordinator of the Month. Nikki  has been with Twinn Palms for the past 4 years as a host family, and has been a coordinator for the last 6 months. Congratulations Nikki on a job well done!

What have you learned as a Homestay Coordinator with Twinn Palms?

Being a coordinator is similar to being a social worker! Every family and student is different and it's important to meet each person where they're at--not where we might want them to be.

What was your favorite moment with your students?

Last year, I organized an opportunity for the students to gain community service hours for school while working in the community. Many students came to an annual art fair and worked with young children to create crafts, paint pictures, and design jewelry. It was a very long day, but we all worked together and had a lot of fun.

What do you recommend as the number one “must have” for a host family?

InstaPot. Your life will never be the same again.
