If yes, please describe.
Question 2: Please describe your first impressions of the student: Language, openness, any observations that are similar to your family? Any that you think are different?*
Question 3: What are some ways you plan to engage or “break the ice” with your student to learn more about them, their culture, likes and dislikes, etc? (Ideas: cook/bake together, sight see the area, play a game)*
Question 4: What are some of your expectations of the student living in your home? What are the house rules that were communicated to the student? When you oriented the student and reviewed these, Did they understand your expectations and house rules?*

II. Arrival Checklist
Question 1: For student’s transitional acculturation period, it’s important to try and consider some foods or personal items that they may be used to. If there is a market (Asian of LATAM market) that sells some of their familiar items or foods, do you have plans to take your student there?*
Question 2: Your student most likely will need to go shopping for school supplies and may need to buy uniforms and books, have you made plans for this and discussed this with your student? Please contact your COORDINATOR for any support and school information related to this.*
Question 3: New students may require local cell phone service provider and local bank account or debit card. Have you been able to assist with this or are there plans to do so? Please contact your coordinator for support with this as needed.*
Please note that host parents should never add international students to their plan. Students should set up their own separate account.
Question 4: Initially, it’s important to ask your student questions related to their needs/likes and dislikes, as most students feel uncomfortable in expressing these at first and may need prompting. Does your student seem responsive and communicative as you engage in conversation?*
If not, please offer details so that we can offer help.
Question 5: Have you collected important documents that you or the student will need while residing in the U.S.?*
Be sure to collect important documents such as the Power of Attorney, Custody Agreement, immunization records, and copies of the student’s passport and insurance card.
File Upload: Arrival pick-up pictures from airport should have been sent to COORDINATOR via text already. Please include a picture of student in their new room or interacting with a family member or having a meal. Something to show the students first days in home.*
Upload up to 3 images.
