I. Host Family Feedback
Question 1. Please describe highlights from your Thanksgiving with your students! Any recipe, meal time, cultural experience, etc. For hosts where students traveled- please confirm your student's smooth return and airport pick up.*
Question 2. What are some plans you and your student have for this upcoming holiday season? What festivities is your student participating with peers and school and which are with your family?*
Question 3. Have you talked to your student about any winter break travel plans- these include travel to home country, travel with you, travel within the US. Please share here any trip details you are aware of, or that may be scheduled and make sure your Coordinator is aware with the proper documentation to allow time for approval. Note: if you have Brazilian student, most are only here for a semester- check in with them about airport drop off and any errand they may need to do before they leave- including potentially needing extra luggage.*
Question 4. What plans does your student have for his/her Winter break that you are aware of? This includes any planned activities, outings, visits, study focus, celebrations with you, etc. Especially for students that are not traveling, what kind of festive activities or holiday exposure can you share or help plan for the break? Are there any fun holiday traditions that you plan to share with your student?*
Question 5. What positive behavior can you note about your student this month, as it relates to his/her home life? This can include anything related to communication, home rules or chores, family engagement, room cleanliness, maintaining schedule, good manners, etc**
II. Health & Attendance
Question 1. Has your student been tardy or absent from school this month? If so, please detail the circumstances around which, if any, were excused vs unexcused.*
Question 2. What actions (if any) were taken related to the above (sick doctor visit, call to office, notified Coordinator, etc.) Are tardies or absences a chronic problem for your student?*
Question 3. How does your student (s) seem to be emotionally? Are they showing signs they are happy, engaged in school, sad, shows little emotion, etc? How engaged with peers does your student seem to be? Have their been any noticeable change in your student’s behavior over this semester? If so, please detail your observations.*
III. Student Academics
Question 1. What class or subject do you think your student naturally is more interested in, and/or drawn towards and may naturally excel at? Are there opportunities at the school related to this subject matter that your student could participate in or has participated in?*
Question 2. Are there any classes in which your student is having to bring up the grades in because it is a C or lower? Which subjects? What effort, if any, has your student shown to bring up any low grades?*
